Aegopodium podograria 'Variegatum' SNOW-ON-THE-MOUNTAIN or GOUTWEED or BISHOP'S WEED 6-12 in. (Zone 3) Versatile, fast growing ground cover that is useful where little else will grow, in sun or shade, rich or poor soil. Leaves are green with silver margins. Ajuga reptans ‘Varieties’ CARPET BUGLE 2-6 in. (Zone 4) Low growing semi-evergreen foliage with blue flower spikes in May through early summer. Prefers partial shade. Does well in sunny area if soil is kept from drying out. Ajuga reptans ‘Burgundy Glow’ - Foliage is green, creamy white and pink tricolor. Ajuga reptans ‘Metallica’ - Shiny deep bronze foliage. Ceratosigma plumbaginoides PLUMBAGO or BLUE LEADWORT 6-12 in. (Zone 5) Late summer flowering herbaceous perennial. Does well in sun or partial shade. Flowers are electric-blue. Foliage is green turning red in fall. Convallaria majalis LILLY-OF-THE-VALLEY 6-8 in. (Zone 1-7) One of the best shade-loving ground covers. Attractive, leafy foliage forms a lush green carpet very quickly. Lovely, fragrant bell- shaped white flowers in early spring. Plant 6-8 in. apart. (Zone 5) Excellent low growing variety for ground cover or bank plantings. Flowers are golden-yellow, pea-like, and appear in spring. Grows well in poor, dry soil areas. Full sun. Hedera helix ‘Thorndale’ THORNDALE ENGLISH IVY 6-8 in. (Zone 5) Smaller leaved and lower growing than H. helix. Evergreen foliage is a rich, glossy dark green. Grows well in sun or shade.
