Delicate white blooms in the spring, edible fruit and showy fall colors. It is one of our native plants able to grow in partial shade, making it an excellent choice for naturalizing in wooded borders.  Proven to be tolerant of urban conditions.

White flowers in late spring, glossy green foliage in summer turning red in the fall, along with bright red-orange berries. Habit is more open and rounded than some other hawthorns. Fruit persists with good color well into late winter or early spring.

Flowers are flushed rose-purple on the outside, pure white on the inside.  One of the earlier-flowering saucer varieties.  A multi-stemmed or low-branched tree with wide-spreading branches, forming a pyramidal to rounded outline at maturity.  Prefers moist, well-drained soil in sun or part shade.  Used in foundation plantings or as a lawn specimen.  Very attractive.
