Broccoli 'Calabrese Green Sprouting' - Heirloom.  From Italy.  Plant produces 5" to 8" heads with mutliple side shoots.  A staple since the 1880's. 

 

Broccoli 'Waltham 29' - 85 Days - A great heirloom variety, expecially for cool temperatures, that produces medium-sized heads and a good crop of side-shoots.  Harvests over a long period.


Brussell Sprouts 'Long Island Improved' - 100 Days - The standard open-pollinated variety from the 1890's.  Heavy yields on a sturdy plant.  

 

Cabbage 'Brunswick' - 90 Days - A large drumhead cabbage that is extremely cold hardy and stores very well.  Introduced in 1924 and is an excellent market variety.  Heirloom.


Cabbage 'Mammoth Red Rock' - 90 Days - A large heirloom cabbage from 1889 with deep red heads that have great flavor.  Excellent in coleslaw and as a garnish for salads!

 

Cabbage, Chinese 'Michihli' - 70 Days - Chinese.  A tasty cabbage that is very tender and great for stir-fries.


Cauliflower 'Giant of Naples' - 80 Days - Large 3 lb. white heads are produced on a vigorous growing plant with large leaves.  An Italian heirloom. 


Celery 'Utah Tall' - 90 to 100 Days -   Very dependable variety with large green stalks and a compact habit.  Heirloom.

  

Cucumber 'Boston Pickling' - An old heirloom dating back to the late 1800's.  Heavy producer of crisp fruit of good quality.  

 

Cucumber 'Marketmore 76' - 70 Days - Dark green, 8" to 9" cukes are abundantly produced.  Excellent flavor and size.  Heirloom.

 

Cucumber 'Tendergreen Burpless' - 55 Days - Free from bitterness, this plant produces 7 to 12-inch fruits that are perfect for slicing.  High yielding. 

 

Cucumber 'Valstar' - 52 Days - Pickler.  Medium dark, blocky fruit that bears many fruit.


Eggplant 'Casper' - 70 Days - Heirloom.  An ivory-white eggplant that produces early with 5 to 6-inch fruits thart are meaty and mild.  Heavy producer.   


Eggplant 'Florida High Bush' - 85 Days - A Florida heirloom from the 1940's, this plant is very productive and ideal for eggplant parmesan!  Fruit averages 10 inches in length.  Disease and drought resistant. 

 

Ground Cherry 'Goldie' - 75 Days - A later variety with larger fruit.  Flavor is a mixture of pineapple and pear.  Great for salads, preserves, or pies.  Drought tolerant and commonly reseeds!  Recommended.  


Kholrabi 'Early Purple Vienna' - 63 Days - Delicious cabbage-flavored bulbs that grow above the ground!  The skin is purple and flesh is white with a sweet flavoring.  High yields and very cold hardy.  A pre-1860 heirloom. 

 

Kholrabi 'Early White Vienna' - 63 Days - Very similar in taste and growth to 'Purple Vienna', but with pale-green skin.  Mild and tasty.  

 

Melon 'Hale's Best 45' - 85 Days -  An heirloom from 1920 by a Japanese market grower, this muskmelon is sweet with orange flesh. 

 

Mexican Sunflower 'Red Torch' - Also known as "golden flower of the Aztecs," this plant produces loads of bright orange to red flowers 2 to 3 inch flowers throughout summer on a 5 foot plant.  Very eye-catching, and butterflies love it!  Recommended.  


Pac Choy 'Ching-Chang' - 50 Days - A delicious, compact baby-type with upright light-green leaves that are tender and flavorful.  A great addition to stir-fries or sautéing.  Harvested when roughly 5 inches tall.  Heirloom.  

 

 

Tomatillo 'Verde Puebla' - 78 Days - Popular in Mexican dishes, the fruit are covered in a papery husk, which is removed, and used to make salsas and many other dishes.  Fruits average 1 to 2 ounces.  Prolific. 


Watermelon 'Ali Baba' - One of the favorite watermelon varieties grown in 2012, this heirloom from Iraq is large and sweet!  Melons weigh 12 to 30 lbs. with hard light-green rind and a crisp, red flesh.  Ali Baba is known as one of the best tasting watermelons offered on the market today.  

  

Watermelon 'Black Tail Mountain' - 70 Days - Dark skinned fruit weighing between 8 to 12 lbs.  Flesh is red and very sweet.  Very early and heat/drought tolerant.  Developed by owner of Sand Hill Preservation Center Glenn Drowns. 

Watermelon 'Orangeglo' - 85 Days -   A beautiful and tasty watermelon with orange flesh!  High yields on healthy plants.  Very unique!

Watermelon 'Sweet Dakota Rose' - 80 to 90 Days -   Striped fruits that weigh 8 to 14 lbs with superior flavor and resistance.  Very few seeds. 

 

Watermelon 'Sugar Baby' - 85 Days - Compact vines produce 6 to 10 lb. melons that are very sweet with a reddish-orange flesh.  A watermelon staple.
