SUMMER
Pennsylvania Dutch - 100 Days - Huge fruits weighing up to 20 pounds. Curved fruit with orange flesh. Good for pies. Easy to prepare, as all seeds are located in the bulb at the bottom. Crookneck - 53 Days - A long time standard. Plants produce curved fruit that are covered in bumps. Have a delicious flavor. Patty Pan (Green Tint, White, Yellow) - This variety is from France. Pure white with deep green streaks. Best eaten when young. Can be fried or baked. Pre-1885 heirloom. Zucchini (Black/Green) - 50 Days - Good numbers of very dark green fruits. Zucchini Zucchini (Gray) - 49 Days - A light-color skinned zucchini. Very good yields. Flesh is firm, mild, and very tasty.
WINTER Acorn (Golden Green White) - 75 Days - Bush plants that average about 5 fruits per plant. Thick orange flesh. Has a delicious flavor and they store well for winter use. Acorn (Paydon) - Similar to the Golden Green White, but with a bright gold color. Blue, Green, & Red Hubbard - 100 Days - Very large teardrop-shaped fruits. Flesh is bright orange and dry. Stores well. Can reach 40 lbs. Buttercup - 95 Days Butternut - 105 Days - Hourglass-shaped fruit. They are one of the most popular winter squashes. About 9" and weigh about 4 to 5 pounds. Stores well. Flesh is orange with a nutty flavor. cushaw/green striped delicata Galeux - From France. Flattened, round 10 to 15 pounds. Fruit has a gorgeous salmon-pink colored skin, which is covered in warts with a sweet orange flesh. New to the United States. Georgia Candy Roaster - Similar to Banana Squash, but much larger. Up to 60 pounds. Orange flesh. Good for baking and pies. Does well. La Estella - Pink Banana - 105 Days - One of the best of winter squash. Good yields of 5" by 18" fruits. Can grow to 20 pounds. Does well in our area. Spaghetti - 73 Days - Fruits are 6" to 8" by 4" to 5" wide. Compact vines. Flesh is similar to spaghetti noodles, and is also less fattening. Speckled Hound - Speckled pup -
