A Wife's Remembrance
January 13, 2026

With heavy hearts we are writing to announce the passing of one of our own, my husband Crispin Follett.

Crispin, along with being family, was a Johnston's employee of 40 years. The passing of this kind, talented man is a big loss to our family, staff and company. We thank you for your prayers and support during this time.

Crispin began working for my father in 1986 at an age of 20 years old. Being from a diary farm in Corry, he was hired for field work and did many tasks from driving tractors to harvesting plants and trees. During that time, Crispin enjoyed working on the crews. Rather quickly he was involved in helping our customers, both in retail and wholesale, by gathering up plants for their orders and assisting them when they came to the Nursery.

With his IT background and love of computers, Crispin brought our company into the Computer Age by installing our first computer in the early 1990’s. As technology expanded, Crispin kept our company on track by building the database network into what it is today. Crispin was instrumental in creating and implementing the various procedures for order processing, sales, purchasing and inventory management. He managed our Corporate Finances as our acting CFO.

Part of Crispin’s journey at the Nursery was falling in love with the ‘boss’s daughter.’ We dated for many years and were married in August of 1996. Crispin was the hub of the company and entering into our family business in this new way, he remained committed to always doing his best for the Nursery, employees, customers, vendors and me.

Crispin was good with numbers and his genuine ‘do the right thing’ nature made him a People Person as well. His attention to detail and ability to juggle many tasks at once made him a wonderful corporate Treasurer and Wholesale Sales Manager.

Crispin’s desk will be hard to fill since he wore so many hats so well. The past year as been difficult as he struggled with various health issues. Myself, our family, and our staff are heartbroken by his passing and I thank God for leading him to us and me so many years ago. We miss you so!

May he rest in God’s eternal peace.

I love you Crispin and I thank you for all you did and were for me and our family. We will do our best to carry on and make you proud. Amen.

In Gratitude and Love,

Lori Follett
