Abies balsamea phanerolepis CANAAN FIR

Zone 4    Height: 50 ft.    Width: 20-25 ft.
Very adaptable and hardy evergreen.  Similar in appearance to A. fraseri but is more tolerant to wet and dry site conditions.   Often used in border plantings, privacy screens, and hedges or as an individual lawn specimen.   Later bud break in the spring makes this variety less susceptible to late spring  frost damage.
