    General Rutger's Stellar Series Dogwoods

A long awaited group of Dogwood hybrids resulting from crosses between Cornus florida and Cornus kousa.  Produced by Dr. Elwin Orton of Rutgers University, these trees exhibit qualities of both parents.  Mostly upright in youth and spreading with age.  Flowers come in pink and white, and bract shape differs with variety.  These vigorous trees are resistant to Dogwood Anthracnose and Dogwood Borer.   Cold hardier than Cornus florida.
